The problem
Where it started.
Fitting-room conversion at SXF was under 4%. The category lived in a blind spot — a customer tries the product on, then leaves with no mechanism to nudge intent into purchase. Online conversion runs on UGC and reviews; physical retail had neither.
The build
What we shipped.
Embedded a 27" touchscreen in every fitting room, paired with an RFID reader that automatically detected which products the customer brought in. The screen served influencer content and customer reviews for those exact SKUs in real time, plus a request-different-size button that summoned an associate with the right product to the door. We instrumented the whole flow for analytics — conversion by SKU, by size, by store.
The result
What it did.
Adoption hit 92%. Fitting-room-to-checkout conversion went from <4% to 87%. The instrumentation surfaced a grading defect in one popular product (XS converting 30%+ below the size run) — design fixed it on the next drop and conversion normalized. Industry awards followed.
